Thank you for your purchase of a RapidSE Demo, Desktop, or Development Kit. Please follow the steps on this page in order to install and configure your RapidSE Desktop software and hardware. This page will always contain the latest version of RapidSE Desktop software, drivers and documentation. If you require older versions, please contact us at support@mmbresearch.com

Step 1 | Download and install hardware drivers

The drivers included on this page are intended for use with the RapidSE Desktop Software running on Windows platforms. If you require drivers for other platforms such as Linux, for use with your own applications, please visit our Downloads page.

Installation Instructions:
Install driver before installing USB stick for the first time.
- Extract the zip file. Run Setup.exe and click "Install".
- When installation has finished, insert the RapidSE USB Stick.
- Windows will present the Found New Hardware wizard.
- From the first screen, select "No, not this time", and click Next.
- Fron the second screen, select "Install Automaticially" and click Next.
- If the Windows Logo Testing dialog appears, click "Continue Anyway"
- Click "Finish".

Installation Instructions:

- Extract the zip file. Run setup.exe and click "Install".
- If the Windows Logo Testing dialog appears, click "Continue Anyway"
- When installation has finished, connect the RapidSE Development Board.

Step 2 | Download and Install RapidSE Desktop Software

Components of the RapidSE Desktop Suite

The RapidSE Desktop kit comprises two applications, RapidSE Desktop ESI (sometimes referred to as ESP) and RapidSE Desktop Devices, available here as separate downloads.

RapidSE Desktop ESI allows you to simulate a Smart Energy network coordinator or Energy Service Interface, and create an SE network.
RapidSE Desktop Devices allows you to simulate a Smart Energy router or endpoint, and join a Smart Energy network.

Note: The firware included on the hardware in your kit may be out of date. If your hardware requires updating, upon connecting the device, RapidSE Desktop will notify you and begin the update process.

Step 3 | Launch and register RapidSE Desktop

    You are now ready to launch RapidSE Desktop. Please launch the application, and follow the on-screen instructions to register your software.
Upon registration, you will be emailed a licence key, and any documentation appropriate to your software license version.
