RapidSE™ is a turnkey embedded software solution that allows metering vendors to leapfrog this development phase, and integrate a fully-compliant ZigBee SE platform without extensive knowledge of ZigBee.
RapidSE™ is an embedded software package designed to run on any Ember EM250-based ZigBee platform.
Integrated into your smart meter or other gateway device, RapidSE acts as a ZigBee gateway between your meter and the local HAN.
RapidSE maps ZigBee SE and HVAC functions to simple serial commands, allowing you to issue commands and receive feedback using your existing hardware's capabilities (such as a UART, SPI or I2C port).
RapidSE is designed to be a turnkey solution. However if your application has special requirements, we will be happy to work with you to produce a tailored build of RapidSE.
RapidSE provides ZigBee coordinator /
concentrator functionality and will automatically:
- Form a ZigBee SE network on request using the optimal (or specified) channel, and authenticate devices joining the network.
- Manage the security of the network, including ECC certificate based authentication.
- Synchronize the meter’s time amongst all devices on the network.
- Issue, verify receipt, and report on execution of demand response and load control events.
- Issue SE messages and verify receipt by capable devices.
- Provide simple metering logic and information to SE devices on request.
- Provide pricing information to devices on request.
